Pre New Year Beauty Bargains

Everyone loves a bargain, don't they?

I recently paid a visit to Norwich; are you mad?, where the shopping centres were crammed full, of bargain hunters frantically stripping shelves like it was to be the last ever sale. If that's not your thing; I only went cause the kids forced me, then there are plenty of really good deals available online, so sit back, grab a cuppa and enjoy bargain hunting in the comfort of your own home. While there many deals to be had, I've listed a few just help you get started.

Makeup Revolution #Lip Hugs

makeup revolution lip hugs lipsticks

Hello, beauties!

My lipstick collection is quite small in comparison to my eye shadows, as I've bought so many in the past just to discover when I've got home they look absolutely hideous on me! So therefore, have ended up in the bin! Nude shades are normally my go to colour for daywear and evening, as I feel my lips would be screaming attention if I dare wear anything slightly bright.

Lately, I've been feeling that it's about time I'd removed myself from that comfort zone and try some bright shades. I didn't want to spend much for this experiment, so decided to order some lipsticks from bloggers fave Makeup Revolution

Laura Geller Baked Gelato Swirl Illuminator

laura geller gilded honey illuminator

Tis the season to use highlighter. And plenty of it!

I've always been a massive fan of highlighters / Illuminators, as they always deliver that perfect stroke of light on top of the cheek bone and can also give an all over glow. These beautiful highlighters/illuminators are the perfect tool to create the most stunning looks; whether you're highlighting, strobing or just want a subtle glow. Unfortunately with age, my skin has started to lose its luminosity and radiance, so needs a little pick me up; which is where these come in.

Lately, I've been enjoying wearing the Baked Gelato Swirl Illuminator in Gilded Honey as either an all over glow or to highlight the cheek bone. I've always been a massive fan of Laura Geller's highlighters/ Illuminators and recently discovered this on Instagram. The look featured was the most stunning luminance I had ever seen. It was beautiful!

It retails for £21:00 for 4.5g, which I thought was a little on the small side in comparison to others I've had, but nevertheless it will be a heck of a while before you hit pan. You'll have to be quick though, as it's always a sell-out and had to wait a while for more stock to get mine. I purchased mine from Feel Unique.

The stunning swirl looks like a cream! It makes you wanna dip your fingers into it. Like most of  Laura's products, they start out as a cream and then baked to look like a powder. This Illuminator had a gorgeous creamy feel to it and glided on so smooth when applied. It provided long lasting wear and didn't settle in my pores like some do. I think this is great product for perking up the skin as mine can look a little dull this time of year. I love the shade, which is an intense warm, deeper gold - gorgeous!

This makes a great alternative to her French vanilla highlighter; a much more paler yellow which is another one I have by Laura. I like to use my fan brush or setting brush from Real Techniques as these really do help give the perfect application. I can't wait to use this in the Summer months over my tan.

Do you have any highlighters/illuminators by Laura Geller?

Too Faced Le Grand Chateau

Ooo la la! What an adorable collection.

too faced le grand chateau eyeshadow collection

Too Faced have developed a French themed Collection for the Holidays. In the UK, they have also released a lip collection as well.  Last year, I felt we were really short changed by the lack of products from the original line up in the States, was then released here. It's fair to say, I'm well happy this year. This is just too gorgeous! No need to wrap this one, as the box packaging gives a gift wrapped look. Inside, (oh my word!) you'll find a beautiful chateau that upon opening, houses 3 eyeshadow palettes and a travel size, Better Than Sex mascara. This is going to look stunning on my dressing table.

Tartelette Amazonian Clay Eyeshadow Palette

tartelette Amazonian clay eyeshadow palette review

I was thrilled to see this beautiful palette back in stock at QVC UK as I missed out the first time round. I wasn't expecting a double ended brush supplied which was a nice surprise!

The Purple sleek packaging is just gorgeous!

The palette consists of 12 neutral all matte shades ranging from pale Cream to Black. There is a good arrangement of shades that would suit most skin tones. A range of looks can be created whether it be for daytime wear or more deep sultry looks for evening. They are soft and buttery to the touch and not at all powdery. The brush has a flat shader on one end and a crease/blender on the other. The hairs are made of synthetic.

From L-R Top row: Free Spirit, Force of Nature, Dreamer and Multi-Tasker.
Mid row: Caregiver, Natural Beauty, Best Friend, Bombshell.
Bottom row: Super Mom, Wanderer, Power Player and Fashionista.

The pigmentation of these shades are amazing with Multi-Tasker, Bombshell and Fashionista proving to be the strongest. These 3 shades are incredible! They would make great eyeliners when using a damp brush.

If you need a little help to achieve some looks Tarte have even supplied a tutorial card which is great!

Overall thoughts: I can see this as being a real staple item in my collection as it features a bucket load of excellent transition shades, eyeliners and highlighter shades. I have oily lids so for me, a primer is essential. I experienced no fall out and blended like a dream! You can achieve many looks with this whether you'd use just one shade all over the lid and up to the crease or a more in depth look! I love the Purple/Plum shades. A great pop of colour in the collection. Adding a shimmer or satin shade on the lid really would enhance the look too! I love that it comes with a large mirror which is great for application on the go.

Have you purchased this palette?
