Protect Kids from top to toe this summer with Nivea & Eucerin Sun Care*.

KIds Sun Care from Nivea & Eucerin

Kids and sun cream...if they had their way, the two shall never meet! Having children myself, I know all too well the importance of keeping our little ones safe whilst in the sun. But unfortunately, kids just don't see it that way, and the battles with my two were never in short supply because they hated the thick, greasy and icky feeling that many sun creams provide; and who can blame them as some are indeed horrible! However, since discovering these from the drugstore favourites, I've been able to finally say goodbye to those daily battles and keep my kids protected from top to toe with a little help from Nivea & Eucerin.

Nivea brings the fun back into  application with their kid-friendly  roll-on  and trigger spray  application to make life that bit easier for everyone; along with their non-sticky, fast absorbing but  deeply moisturising formulas that's specially formulated for children's delicate skin. These contain highly effective UVA/UVB filters for immediate protection and is also water resistant which makes them perfect for fun in the water!

No doubt, the trigger application of the Nivea Sun Kids Moisturising Trigger Sun Spray SPF 50+ 300ml £7.99* (UVA rating 4 stars) will be a favourite amongst children as not only will it encourage them to apply it on themselves, but on each other too! (Closely watching, of course!) This deeply moisturising formula comes  in a convenient pump that allows a much more faster and effective application than regular pump sprays, (great for parents who's little ones who won't sit still!) This non-greasy, easily absorbed, water resistant formula is loved by my youngest (I think she sees this as something similar to a cleaning product haha!) as this is regularly used whilst at our local beach.

Ingredients:
Aqua, Homosalate, Octocrylene, Glycerin, Ethylhexyl Salicylate, Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane, Alcohol Denat. Bis-Ethylhexyloxyphenol Methoxyphenyl Triazine, Butylene Glycol Dicaprylate/Dicaprate, Sodium Phenylbenzimidazole Sulfonate, Ceteareth-20, Panthenol, C18-36 Acid Triglyceride, VP/Hexadecene Copolymer, Tocopheryl Acetate, Sodium Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Trisodium EDTA, Phenoxyethanol, Methylparaben, Ethylparaben, Linalool, Limonene, Geraniol, Benzyl Alcohol, Citronellol, Citral, Parfum
Size (300) Unit (ML) Height (15.3) Width (6.3) Depth (4.7)
Product code: 727861

Another firm favourite with my kids is this super portable roll-on design from the Nivea Sun Kids Caring Roll-On SPF 50+ (very high) 50ml £4.99 (UVA rating 4 stars), for that last minute protection before going to school. The roll-on also makes this an excellent choice for little hands as it also allows them to be that bit more independent (you know how kids are!) with it's easy, fun, self-application, whilst also helping kids learn the true value of sun protection at the same time. Due to its size, it's also great  for the hand bag so you can keep protection at its highest level throughout the day.

I also ride a bike and my hands get quite tanned! But I've recently noticed sun spots appearing which is not good! So, I also use this to apply to the back of my hands as the roll-on application makes it really easy and prevents having to wash my hands afterwards. I just rub the back of my hands together and off I go!

Ingredients:
Aqua, Homosalate, Octocrylene, Glycerin, Ethylhexyl Salicylate, Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane, Alcohol Denat, Bis-Ethylhexyloxyphenol Methoxyphenyl Triazine, Butylene Glycol Dicaprylate/Dicaprate, Sodium Phenylbenzimidazole Sulfonate, Ceteareth-20, C18-36 Acid Triglyceride, VP/Hexadecene Copolymer, Tocopheryl Acetate, Sodium Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Trisodium EDTA, Phenoxyethanol, Methylparaben, Ethylparaben, Linalool, Limonene, Geraniol, Benzyl Alcohol, Citronellol, Citral, Parfum

The Eucerin Sun Kids Spray 50+ 200ml £19.50* (UVA rating 3 stars) is perfect for my eldest as she suffers with sensitive skin and has suffered with eczema flare-ups throughout her young life. This super lightweight, non-greasy lotion from Eucerin helps keep my mind at rest knowing she'll receive the highest protection without the worry of any irritations to her skin. It also contains glycerine which keeps the skin moisturised whilst strengthening its natural barrier.

This formula is suitable for children from the age of one and is free from parabens, colourants and perfumes. It's UVA/UVB formulation helps to protect children’s sensitive skin from short term sunburn and provides biological cell protection to reduce the risk of long-term UV-induced skin damage. It's also water resistant, which again, ensures continued protection whilst in water. The pump spray is  brilliant for applying to hard-to-reach areas, such as the back of shoulders,  arms and legs which is essential for those regular top-ups!

Ingredients:
Aqua, Homosalate, Octocrylene, Glycerin, Dicaprylyl Carbonate, Alcohol Denat., Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane, Ethylhexyl Salicylate, Bis-Ethylhexyloxyphenol Methoxyphenyl Triazine, C18-36 Acid Triglyceride, Ceteareth-20, Phenylbenzimidazole Sulfonic Acid, VP/Hexadecene Copolymer, Glycyrrhiza Inflata Root Extract, Glycyrrhetinic Acid, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Trisodium EDTA Ethylhexylglycerin, 1,2-Hexanediol, Phenoxyethanol.

Products marked with asterix (*) were sent to me for review. All opinions are my own and have not been influenced by anyone or company.

What  are you using to keep your kid's skin protected this summer?

3 Brilliant Eyeshadow Brushes That Make a Difference!

If someone were to ask me what are the most popular eyeshadow brushes that makeup users apply,  I'd have to say it'd probably be a flat shader, a fluffy crease brush and an angled liner. And let's face it - having these has you pretty much covered when it comes to creating any eye look. But there are others that I've discovered that I'd now be totally lost if I didn't have. Today, I'm sharing you 3 of my most favourite brushes for those specific jobs when a crease or a flat shader just won't do! I agree these may not be the most prettiest brushes to look at as you can see they've been very well loved! I find these to be brilliant for either multi-tasking or for taking a specific job to the next level.

Two palettes in one week! Well, I thought seeing as I'm a palette freak! I'd get one more in before taking a little blog break! I have another affordable palette to show you. This time involving a collaboration between  Bh Cosmetics and US YouTuber Carli Bybel.

If you've not heard of Carli Bybel then where have you been? She is a beauty vlogger who regularly shares makeup skills on her YouTube channel and also runs a successful beauty blog called the beautybybel. In 2016, she collaborated with US budget brand, Bh Cosmetics to create this stunning limited edition palette - Carli Bybel 14 Colour Eyeshadow & Highlighter Palette containing a very flattering mixture of universal shades, ranging from Golds, Bronzes, to Dusty Roses and Plums.

Tanya Burr My Escape Eye Palette | Review & Swatches

Tanya Burr My Escape Eyeshadow Palette

To kick off the Summer season, YouTube vlogger Tanya Burr has released a new collection to her makeup range called Neutral Ambience. The Summer release sees two new eyeshadow palettes: a khaki based quad called My Escape, and an inspired Rose Gold sunset called My Paradise. The collection also features two new lip shades: Bear Hug - a Peachy Nude (I'm debating on that one) and Sunday Walk - a Rose Pink.

I admit, other than watch the odd makeup tutorial, I'm not really a follower of Tanya Burr (it's mainly the young that follow her) but I do follow her Sisters in-law, Pixiwoo - and it wasn't until I watched one half of the duo (Sam) create a khaki themed look using the My Escape eye palette, was then  inspired to make a purchase. Performance wise, I wasn't sure what to expect as I've heard a lot of mixed reviews with regards to her products. But considering it only cost £ 5.99, I wasn't that worried.

Hourglass | Ambient Lighting Edit Palette - Surreal Light : Review and Swatches

The Ambient Lighting Edit Palette in Surreal Light is probably the most expensive makeup product I own, and one that had my husband witness me lose all sense over when I politely asked for his assistance in purchasing this (in other words, his wallet!) last Christmas (yes, that long ago!) For as long as I can remember, I'd read nothing but people raving about Hourglass. So when they released this limited edition, I thought it'd be a great way to try a variety of different products and see what all the fuss was about. Unfortunately, unlike other fans of Hourglass, for me, my love affair with this palette proved no easy ride due to the timing of this rather warmed toned, summer-esque compact was released (in the middle of British Winter); and other than the odd outing, it had pretty much been sitting left redundant in my drawer - until recently.

Currently Loving #3 : Includes Too Faced, Becca, The Ordinary & More!

As I've explained before, for me, the change in season gives me the perfect opportunity to switch things around and use products that have either been left collecting dust or an excuse to buy new ones! I tend to not do monthly faves as I prefer to do a more of a currently loving type of post, which I'm beginning to see a pattern here by publishing every 2-3 months. Here's what I've been loving in the lead up to Summer!

Latest in Skincare: featuring Bravura, Dior and more!

Skincrae Products From Bravura, Nivea, Dior & Judith Willams

When it comes to skincare, I'm not one to have oodles of products piled high like I do with my makeup. I don't always have the budget to try them willy, nilly in-order to find that miracle product, and even if I did, I think I'd still be quite happy to carry on using a product until I've reached the end of its life before picking up another one.

I'd recently come to the end of my humongous pot (150m!!!) of Rich Rose Face Cream by Judith Williams (which isn't as rich as it sounds, but in a good way) and thought now Summer is upon us, I need to start wearing something that bit more lightweight to beat the heat!

Two Mascaras, Two Reviews! : L'Oréal Telescopic Mascara & Miss Baby Roll Mega Volume Mascara

If you been following me for a while, you will know I've become totally obsessed with the L'Oréal False Lash Sculpt mascara. This isn't the first one I've loved from the brand, Miss Manga used to be another favourite. I've tried a fair few in my time, and I think out of all of the drugstore brands, L'Oreal comes top for being pretty consistent in the volume and length department (just don't bother with the Million Volume in the waterproof version).

So, when they introduced their latest edition, Miss Baby Roll Mega Volume Mascara, I decided to buy it because of the similarities in the design of the tube to the Miss Manga. Apart from Black, they also feature some really fun shades that I think are well fitting for the Summer months: Indigo, Lilac and Teal. I finished up opting for the Black waterproof version (BORING!). Although now Summers fast approaching, I might just go back and grab the Indigo to jazz things up a bit. Or shall I go for the Lilac? Hmm!...decisions, decisions!

I took advantage of the 3 for 2 offer that was on at Superdrug, which gave me the opportunity to pick up another False Lash Sculpt and to try their Telescopic one too.

Keep Smiling With Janina Ultra White!* #NATIONALSMILEMONTH

Janina Ultra White Toothpaste National Smile Month

The smile from my children brings instant happiness - always! But that's not forgetting to ensure they practice good oral hygiene and regular visits to the dentist. So,with that in mind, I thought it was really important to feature this excellent cause - National Smile Month - which is the UK’s largest and longest-running campaign to promote good oral health. Between the 15th May - 15th June, we are encouraged to become more aware of oral health issues such a mouth cancer as well as improve the general health of our teeth. Important cause don't you think?

Rediscovering Metallics : Which One Wore Best?

Metallic Liquid Lipsticks : Which One Is Best?

The metallic lip trend has been back with us for a quite a while now. A trend that I embraced with open arms way back in the late eighties (really showing my age now) sharing fond memories of the pink-y bronzed lipstick from Lancome that I repurchased about 3 times, before it was finally discontinued (I was hooked!) Whilst I don't remember that metallic effect being quite as full-on as we've seen of late, I've always had a bit of a soft spot for that reflective pout; as my one minute warm, the other minute cool undertone proved, and still is, quite difficult when it comes to choosing shades. So, for a very long time and pretty much up until the introduction of the nudes, that pearlescent glow, preferably from a Bronze or Gold, was always a staple in my lip wardrobe to provide that extra plumpness!

Unfortunately, with the looming celebration of entering the mid-forties, left me unsure as to whether I could still pull this off.  But the shades I'll be sharing with you today proved too gorgeous to just walk away, and ended up with 3; one from Makeup Revolution; one from ColourPop and the other from Gerard Cosmetics.

Make-up Tip: 6 Ways to Prevent Your Mascara From Clumping!

How To Prevent Your Mascara From Clumping

One of the bugbears of applying mascara is that it doesn't take much for your lashes to end up in a clumpy mess. When this happens, we often feel it's a sign that the formula has dried-out and it's time to replace it with a new one. But as you and I know, this isn't always the case is it? So, what do we do? We often blame the formula, don't we?! Although some just suck no matter what you do! Now before we begin, I just want to add that I don't consider myself an expert when it comes to applying mascaras (no way!) But what I do have is a few little tricks that I've picked up over the years that have worked for me in preventing gloopy lashes. Have you tried any of these?

The Ordinary Colours Serum Foundation

For the poor guys at Deciem, Victoria Health or anywhere else that sells this foundation, it must feel like Black Friday all over again, except it's every single day and 10 times worse!!! After reading that they had received orders for over 250,000 units in its first week, I was really unsure as to whether to publish this post as the last thing I wanted was to increase the demand - Oops! But considering YouTuber Wayne Goss has already revealed his thoughts to his millions of subscribers, I soon realised I'm just a small fish swimming in a very large ocean.

Becca Sunchaser Palette : Review & swatches

Becca Sunchaser Palette

It's been a while since I've dedicated a whole post on one item, and what a treat it is to be able to share with you one from Becca; their latest offering for the Summer - The Sunchaser Palette.

The Sunchaser Palette is a beach-inspired trio of shades that's been created to give you that effortless sunkissed, back-from-the-beach look. It contains a blusher, bronzer and a highlighter which can be used alone or layered to provide much-needed assistance to any sun-starved skin. We also see two new shades in this compact: Ipanema Sunset - a warm-toned Sunlit Bronzer, and Apricot Blossom Mineral Blush - a matte peachy coral.

The Sunchaser Palette is a limited edition and is priced at £32.00. In the U.K. it's only available whilst stocks last from beauty website Cult Beauty. In the US, you can purchase this direct from Becca, Ulta and other Becca stockists.

Becca Sunchaser Palette

The packaging and formula

The compact itself is styled in that exactly same gorgeous sleek design as their other palette Blushed with Light. I absolutely adore that palette and despite its high usage it looks as though I've hardly made a dent in it, these babies last! The design on the lid from the Sunchaser Palette shares a gradual radiant effect that mimics the shades that are housed inside the compact. Enclosed there is a large mirror so you can apply with ease no matter where you are; whether your in San Tropez or the Seychelles (let's pretend shall we?) The texture from the shades give that usual irresistible soft creamy powder that's smooth and blend-able - something we've become to know and love from Becca.

The shades

As I've just mentioned, the face palette comes in three shades. We have....

Sunlit Bronzer - Ipanema Sunset:

Ipanema Sunset is described as a medium Auburn Brown. This is a warm-toned bronzer that features their iconic shimmering  skin perfector to give a subtle satin hue to the finish. For all you lighter skin folk, you may need to watch your application with this one as I feel this shade may be better suited for medium or tanned skin tones. For very pale? I think this will be too warm for you. It's very pigmented, so a light hand is required but blends nicely with very little effort, and adds warmth to my skin in no time at all.

I just lightly apply with a large brush to prevent going overboard and looking too dark. I was a little concerned this may apply too Orange but it doesn't. It adds a nice amount of warmth that works in harmony with my cool-ish undertone. However, for those of you that like to use bronzers for contouring, this shade isn't really suitable for this.

Mineral Blush  - Apricot Blossom

You'd be forgiven for thinking this looks very similar to their Flowerchild blush from the Jaclyn Hill Splits Collection and you'd be right, they do share some similarities, except this has a slightly more warmer peachier tone than the satin pink-y hue from Flowerchild. But nevertheless, it's still a gorgeous shade and is what drew me to this palette in the first place.

These mineral blushers from Becca are enriched with micro-fine minerals and antioxidant vitamins to achieve a natural looking flush of colour. The blush is build-able and blends nicely with the bronzer, and together they translate that  just-caught-the-sun look on my skin. Throw Opal in the mix to complete a natural multi- dimensional glow.

Shimmering Skin Perfector Highlighter - Opal

I've yet to experience the shade Opal, which is another reason why I bought this palette. The only other highlighter shade I own from Becca is Champagne Pop. Opal is their best-seller as it's the most universal shade out of their entire highlighter range due its skin suitability with all skin tones because despite being golden it's less Yellow and gives off a slightly more neutral tone to the shade.

The formula comes with their iconic Becca technology that gives that light-reflected pearl without that obvious shimmer. I always think it brings an expensive look to the skin. Opal suits my undertone perfectly and performs this stunning transparent sheen that mimics the natural oils of my skin. I've seen this on deeper skin tones and my goodness it looks amazing!

Below are swatches from the Sunchaser Palette. The camera didn't pick up as much as I'd hoped, but trust me, these are pigmented.

Below are swatch comparisons with Flowerchild and Champagne Pop.

Overall thoughts

This is a really lovely addition for any Becca fan or for someone wants to consolidate 3 products in one palette for that fuss-free application. This'll be perfect to take on holiday for that lighter travelling or a great option to have for the dressing table. As I mentioned earlier, I adore my Blushed with Light Palette, so when I caught wind that they were to release another one, I knew I couldn't resist. Overall it's a very beautiful palette that shares great pigmentation with formulas that will last. Despite the topsy-turvy weather of late, I've been enjoying this nearly everyday since receiving this and has given my Winter ravaged complexion some much needed lift to make it look more alive and awake. When all three shades are applied, this gives me that natural bronzed glow that leaves me no requirement to be chasing the Sun. In fact, I'd rather fake it! For those lazy days, I've been loving the combination of Ipanema Sunset with Opal to give just a wash of bronze colour across the eye. And my goodness, Opal looks stunning on the eye!

Will I be chasing another Becca palette? Yes I'll probably will as these slim and sleek compacts are fast becoming one of my favourite items out of my whole collection. Now it's over to you.

Will you be purchasing the Sunchaser Palette this Summer? What are your favourites from Becca?

A chatty Post! Makeup - Is a High-End Stash Always More Satisfying?

Sometimes, you just want to write about something and immediately hit the publish button. Today's post is about something that's been on my mind a lot when it's comes to luxury makeup and my attitude towards it, more so since started I blogging. This was only put together a few hours ago; so apologies if I ramble on a little and not make much sense. I suppose that's one of the perils of publishing without giving it a second thought. So here goes...

Product Empties : Make-Up! Featuring Anastasia Beverly Hills, Tarte, Too Faced and More!

Makeup Review featuring Mascara, Primer and Brow Products

I can guarantee there won't be many of these!

I tend to get through skincare far more quicker than makeup as I don't possess that many products within my stash, which means the same ole products gets used day after day. Also, when you reach my age, skincare becomes a much more trickier and a more expensive process when finding the right product. Also, when it comes to finding the next quick fix, I'd much rather get it from something like a lipstick rather than a jar of cream. The only unfortunate thing about makeup is that you're being constantly bombarded with the next-best-thing as all it does is encourage me to create this huge wall of makeup. So, it's hardly surprising that I don't get to finish much of these. But, when they do, they should feel honoured! It turned out most are mainly eye products that I've enjoyed - unfortunately for some I won't be choosing to repurchase in the near future.

Currently Loving For The Shower & Bath

Bath Products featuring Nivea, Liz Earle, Elemis & Soap & Glory

There was a time when the only shower product I'd have in possession was a "pound jobbie" from the supermarket, which is fine and there is nothing wrong with that, but I was finding I was getting so bored using the same scent day after day and wished I had some added variety to switch things around a little. Plus, it's always nice to have a couple that you can turn to for special occasions or for those pampering moments when you just want to indulge and unwind with something a bit more luxurious!

Today, I'm sharing with you some that I'm currently enjoying for everyday showering and for relaxing whilst in the bath.

Latest Skincare Review featuring The Ordinary | Plus: Is there an alternative to the Pixi Glow Tonic?

Skincare from The Ordinary

Whenever I receive a newsletter from Gill from Victoria Health, (I highly recommend that you subscribe!) I always know that it's going to feature some exciting new products from a brand that's blown everything out of the water. Deciem brand, The Ordinary, shows no sign of slowing down on what has been an incredible journey for them and indeed for us who can finally have access to the latest "must have" ingredients in order for our skins to look better.

If you haven't yet heard from all the "fanfare" that's been surrounding this brand, then all I can say is for the past 6 months you must have been living on the moon. The Ordinary is a skincare brand that produces clinical formulations with integrity by revealing their true cost. This changes the way we access these effective, ingredients that are generally only found in high-end products. The only unfortunate thing for me is the bonkers price tag which has done nothing but encouraged me to try a heck of a lot! So far, I've enjoyed quite a few, and hope at some point will be able to cherry pick the best ones that's worked for me and feature them in a future post.

Simple Ways To Perk Up Your Make Up Look For Spring

Spring Makeup

Today is officially the first day of Spring! I love Spring because apart from moving away from the dark and dreary colours of Winter which often make it feel a lot more colder than it is, for me it's a time to inject some fun with my makeup and get a little bit more creative with new colours that reflect the change in season. During the Winter months, I tend to keep things a little quite with regards to colour preferring neutrals as a first choice most of the time. But once Spring has finally sprung I instantly gravitate towards the pretty hues of Peachy Corals and Soft Pinks as these really uplift my mood after the bleakness of Winter. But not only do I think this is the perfect excuse for switching up my makeup look, it's also prevents me getting into a rut using the same ole products day after day.

Bargain Beauty Accessories from eBay

Beauty Accessories From eBay

We all know that eBay is just one big massive treasure trove. No matter what you're looking for you can guarantee you'll always find it there. But up until recently it wasn't a site that I'd often visit because I thought it was nothing more than a place to find fake goods which we all know that's not true (just avoid the makeup unless it states authentic). There are loads of fabulous buys to be had from reputable companies or from people like you and me, selling goods that are no longer required.

Giving Your Hands a Helping Hand

Up until a few years ago, I was never that much into hand creams as I'd often forget to apply them or found them too greasy when I did. But after seeing the look of my hands deteriorate quite rapidly over the last few years, I decided it was time to take action and show a little tlc on these hardworking mitts.

Nowadays, hand creams have come a long way since the greasy formulas my mum would use. I have somehow ended up with quite a few of these lighter formulas using them for different purposes throughout the day. In today's post, I'll be sharing with you how I've incorporated these in my routine and some of my favourites I've picked along the way.

On rotation for the handbag

Smaller tubes are perfect and an inexpensive way for replenishing your hands whilst on the go. The size of these smaller tubes make these more than ideal for popping in your bag because they take up very little room. My hands get quite battered whilst at work and I always have a couple of tubes in my handbag so they are on hand to replenish lost moisture due to the handling of packaging and dust which means I'm forever washing my hands. These are great because the formulas aren't so rich that they leave my hands sticky and slippery. For some reason, I've seemed to have gravitated towards fruit scented formulas for this. After applying these, I always find myself smelling my hands because I love the scent so much!

Soap & Glory Mini Hand Food in Sugar Crush 50ml | £2.50

This is only available in the mini size at the moment, but I managed to obtain this as part of a set I purchased in the sales after Christmas. This comes in a new scent that I wasn't aware of but turns out a much preferred one from the original as it smells a bit like the Yankee Candle scent of Lemon Lavender or Vanilla Lime. (sorry, I can never remember which one) which I love. So if you love that lime zesty scent, then you'll love this. This Hand Food formula is non-greasy hydrating formula that contains Shea Butter, Macadamia Oil and Marshmallow.
The Body Shop Satsuma  Hand Cream 30ml | £4.00

I love the smell of fresh oranges, don't you? Another zesty favourite that helps me with on-the-go hydration and to help soften the skin without leaving any slipper residue. This lightweight gel/cream like formula absorbs very quickly leaving my hands protected and ready for the next task.

The formulation of hand creams is something the French have got spot on. Wonderful French brand L'Occitane is probably considered one of the, if not the biggest success stories when it comes to hand creams with their best selling Shea Butter formula being sold every 3 seconds worldwide! Along with their original formula come with various other fragrances for you to enjoy which are still infused with that famous Shea Butter formula. I managed to still own a couple, that came part as a set, trialling the biddy sizes of 10ml which was a great introduction to discover the brand. The Verbena Cooling Hand Gel is another favourite for work as it gives that refreshing lemony scent and is enriched with Verbena Oil, Mint and the essentials oil of Thyme which are known for their purifying properties. The scent has also been great to use in the mornings to help revive with it's freshen wide-awake scent. The cooling gel-like cream that sets more dry than your traditional formulas makes this perfect to apply also during the warmer weather as it cools the skin and freshens clammy, sweaty hands.

By the Kitchen Sink

Nivea Q10 Anti- Age Care Hand Cream 75ml | £3.49*

I've been loving the Nivea Q10 which has proven to be a great product to have by the kitchen sink - it gets used a lot! Again it's portable so it takes up very little space by the sink. The scent may be not as strong as the other 3 but this does share a slight twist to their signature Nivea scent which produces enough fragrance without conflicting with the scent of my hand wash. The cream itself has a lovely lightweight texture that's rich but penetrates into my skin easily to prevent the formulation of dry cracked texture appearing on my hands that can happen due to the constant contact with water. This gives 24 hour protection and is enriched with the skin's Q10 Co-enzyme to help prevent the signs of ageing. This also contains UV Filters to help prevent UV induced age spots which is ideal for someone like me who rides a bike as my hands are always exposed to the environment.

Night time treatment

When it comes to night time, I like to apply the richest formula, as I like layering this on more thickly than normal to give my hands a luxury treat and to help the skin repair whilst I'm asleep.

The most expensive out of all of them and is probably the most effective for a good night time treatment. This was also purchased as part of a set, and while I'll admit the fragrance didn't exactly wow me to begin with, it wasn't too long before I realised what a great formula this is.

This rich formula contains the fragrant oils of the Frangipani Monoi which comes from the flower Gardenia, and also contains the conditioning ingredient of Shea Butter and Macadamia Nut Oil. This cream leaves my skin looking deeply nourished and with regular use I seen some improvement in the look of my hands.

Do you have any favourite hand creams?

My First Haul from ColourPop Cosmetics: Review & Swatches

ColourPop Haul featuring Mile High Eye Shadows

After refusing point blank for over a year of ordering anything from ColourPop (not that there's anything wrong with them) because of fear of getting stung with custom fee charges, I caved! I finally caved in!!!

ColourPop Cosmetics is a budget brand from the US that has won the hearts of so many UK makeup enthusiasts Their colour range looks insanely beautiful and their formulas look amazing! It's not hard to see why they're so popular. So, after I've hearing nothing but praise after praise after praise about the Colour Shock eye shadow formulas, the Ultra Satin Lip formulas, the highlighters, the Lippie Stix - pretty much every bloody thing! I'd thought I'd finally see what all the fuss is about and ordered some bits from them.

I received an email from them stating that if I spend over $50, I'd qualify for free international shipping but also took into account this obviously wouldn't include Royal Mail's slice of the pie! I decided to order a couple of sets which I though would be a cost effective way to discover the range. Plus, I ordered a couple of individual products which came to grand total of $51 or £41 in sterling.

Here's what I ordered:

Mile High Eye Shadow Set containing 6 individual pots of their Colour Shock eyeshadows for $25. Individually they'd cost $5 each. I thought I'd play it safe and be a good place to start by trying out some of their neutral shades with different finishes.

Just Peachy 3 piece Lip Bundle. I thought these shades would be absolutely perfect for the Summertime. This set contains 2x Ultra Matte Lip formulas in the shades Speed Dial & Instigator and 1x Ultra Satin Lip in Screen Shot costing $15 for the set. Individually they'd cost $6 each.

1x Lippie Stix in the shade Poison (a brick Red) - $5. (I've always wanted to own a Lippie Stix!)

Delivery

The products came housed in the most delightful packaging I have ever received and most certainly wouldn't want to throw away. It's colourful, vibrant and fun! It also came delivered with a cute message on a card giving you that personal touch and making the whole experience worth waiting for - despite Royal Mail’s efforts to try and dampen my little pleasure with their custom fee charges which I knew was inevitable anyway. Royal Mail charged me around £17. Although, considering I got the free shipping and the parcel did come all the way from California, I didn't see this as a total blow! Still, it's not something I want to make a habit of and will look into other ways of having my orders delivered in the future. Perhaps trying a mail forwarding service like My Mail Box. The delivery took about 9 days to reach me - pretty good!

The formula of the lip products

The shades from the Just Peachy set are lovely and are right up my street. I do love a peachy lippie.

Like I just previously said. The set contained 2x Ultra Matte Lip formulas and 1x Ultra Satin Lip. When laid out together on a table, the shades look very similar until swatched.

Speed Dial -  a Rich Peach. My favourite of the three as it wasn't too bright learning more Brown

Instigator - a muted Peach. My least favourite as I thought this was a bit too bright for me.

Screen Shot - a deepened Peach which I also loved because this also wasn't too bright and again leaned towards Brown.

These lip tube formulas all come with the synonymous doe-foot wand applicator. The formula itself is very thin. But don't let that fool you as they applied solid and true to the colour you see in the tube. You really don't need a lot.

I'd heard frequently that the Matte formulas are quite drying! Now, I'm not sure if these are new formulas or anything or I just got lucky, but I didn't think these felt too drying at all. Providing I cleaned the lip area first with Miceller water and didn't over apply to the inner part of the lip, I didn't really have an any issues. I'll admit, I got that initial feeling you get when know they're there perhaps, but after licking my lips a few times, that soon wore off.  I certainly found these more comfortable to wear than the Lip Lingeries from Nyx.

The formula lasted until I ate something hot and greasy. Even then, they were still some colour left. But the only issue I had with these is I couldn't reapply without cleaning the whole lip area again first, which is a bit of a faff, otherwise they felt a bit thick and didn't look as fresh. Other than that, I loved them.

The same applied with the Satin formula in terms of having to clean before reapply. Although, I do prefer the finish of this one as this didn't look as flat.

The metallic shade Man Eater from the Ultra Metallic collection is flippin' gorgeous! I'm so happy to see the return of metallic shades as I loved them when I was younger. This did feel slightly more drying around the inner part of the lip to begin with. But as I broke into the formula with each wear, it soon wore off. I was able to easily reapply with this one.

The Lippie Stix Matte in the shade Poison is a true brick Red. I thought I'd order a shade that's totally out of my comfort zone and I sure did with this one! The twistable formula was lovely! The best formula of the bunch! The colour was bold, solid and most importantly, comfortable. This glided over the lip with very little effort, so, I'll definitely be ordering more of these!

Colour Pop Mile High Shadow Set

Mile High Shadow Set

I had heard so much about these formulas so I really had high hopes.

But let's just look at this box. Isn't this delightful? I mean... this is drugstore we're talking about here! How fab! Despite being made out of cardboard, it's a really good solid box. And they've even enclosed a mirror inside. There's no way I'm throwing this away as this will make excellent use for storage.

The Mile High Collection consisted of 6 individual shadows from their Colour Shock range.

Truth: satin neutral light beige. When swatched you could barely see it. But on the lid, it gave a nice Satin nude look.

Nillionaire: metallic bronze with pink and gold glitter. Showed a beautiful glitter sparkle on the lid. I loved this so much. I broke the rules and wore this during the day. The Gold sparkles helped to enhance the subtle yellow tone I have near the centre of the iris.

So Quiche: soft metallic olive with violet and gold sparkles. This beautifully combined Pink and Gold glitter made this another favourite. Even the makeup consultants at the Charlotte Tilbury counter I recently visited commented on how lovely this looked and they too admitted to loving ColourPop! (Shh! Don't tell Charlotte!)

Lala: metallic soft copper. I found this quite warm on its own but soon discovered this paired quite nicely with Mittens. Excellent pairing for bringing out Green eyes.

Cricket: icy purple with multi-dimensional glitter. My least favourite mainly because of the shade. It looked dull and unflattering on its own. Looked better once La La was layered underneath for some added warmth.

Mittens: matte plummy brown. Very warm on me. A lovely shade but needed building to mimick the depth of the shade in the pan. Stunning with Lala.

This is the claim from ColourPop: SUPER SHOCK SHADOW is a long-wearing crème powder formula has an elastic-like texture that is totally party proof. Avoid the fall out from traditional powder shadows and say goodbye to raccoon eyes! This feather soft formula glides on and feels freakin’ amazing!

The Formula

The formula is incredibly addictive, in a sense I could swirl my finger around in it all day! The ultra smooth, bouncy like texture felt amazing and something I've never experienced before in an eyeshadow. The formula achieved smooth even colour across the eyelids although I found I still had to build some of these up a little, but it's no worse than some of the higher-end ones I've used. But, I enjoyed this anyway because of the addictive texture in those pots. I experienced no fall-out.

However, one of the few issues I have with these is that I can't just apply with any ole brush as these are best applied using either my finger (which works best) or buy using the flattest of the flattest synthetic brush, so it helps to really bring out the intensity of the shade or finish. A synthetic crease brush also proved best for buffing around the edges too

Plus, I also still need to use a primer otherwise the formula creased and the shades faded a little.

But despite that, for a budget brand, I found these pots gorgeous! Especially for achieving a quick, simple eye look when using my fingers. I love how it gives my eyelids a little pizzaz for during the day. For the shimmers and glitters, I'll definitely be back for more!

Discovering It Cosmetics

It Cosmetics It's Your Complexion Perfection

This post should've gone out weeks ago. But as per usual, I fell behind, and once that happens, it's really hard to get back into it. Anyway, we're here now, and today I'll be sharing you my thoughts on this collection from It Cosmetics - It's Your Complexion Perfection - featuring the often raved about multi-tasking wonder - the CC Cream! When It Cosmetics arrived in the U.K at QVC early last year, the question that was on everybody's lips was "Where's the CC Cream?" because of the huge following it has across the pond from people giving it the holy grail status! Of course, I now know why they held it back because they wanted to launch it with a "bang!" and didn't they do just that?! This was part of a special TSV that was featured late last month.

Beauty Plan for 2017 : 5 Brands I'd Like to try

5 Beauty Brands I'd Like to Try

Hi everyone!

In today's post, I'll be sharing 5 brands I'd like to try and hopefully finally capture sometime this year. Over the past few years, we've seen a huge surge of makeup brands arriving on our shores whether it'd be online or in store. Being that typical makeup junkie, you'd think I've tried more than enough to satisfy my needs, wouldn't you? But, oh no! Are any of these on your wish list?

Can A Primer Costing £3.90 Really Work?

And the products just keep on rolling. Is there no stopping this brand? I can't keep up.

After waiting since October, the High Adherence Silicone Primer from The Ordinary finally popped through my letterbox way back in December after initially having to pre-order this - so this was long before I began my love affair with the Hylamide HA Blur. Because I'm so weak, I found myself once again being sucked in due to the low figures beside the pound sign. For £3.90, is it really possible to obtain a good primer for such a ridiculous price?

Currently Loving : featuring Kat Von D, Becca, Urban Decay & more...

Whenever we approach a new month, a lot of bloggers generally like to publish posts sharing their favourite products they've enjoyed for those past 30 days or so. I decided I wasn't going to follow that path and thought I'd share a more of a "currently loving" type of post instead rather than monthly.

Skincare Haul and Thoughts: featuring The Ordinary, Emma Hardie, Eucerin and more....

Hey, everyone.

I thought I'd give my latest thoughts on these skincare products I've been using for the past few months. There's quite a few featured here, so I'll cut the initial jibber-jabber that I normally do within the first paragraph and crack on!

L. A. Girl Pro. Coverage Long Wear HD Illuminting Foundation Review & Comparison With MUFE Ultra HD.

Hey, everyone!

Foundation reviews has somewhat appeared to have come like buses here on the blog. You wait ages for one to arrive, then two come at once. I have one from L.A. Girl this time which also has a ridiculously long name. This was also purchased from the Black Friday offers last year which now seems a very long distance memory. When I first caught sight of the L.A. Girl Pro. Coverage Long Wear HD Illuminating Foundation (Try saying that when you've had a few!) I thought that the bottle looked very similar to the Make Up For Ever Ultra HD which I love. Plus, it gave the impression that it'd be a really nice foundation to use. So I decided to get it.

Milani Conceal & Perfect 2 in 1 Foundation and Concealer : Review

milani conceal + perfect 2 in 1 foundation & concealer review

Hi, everyone!

My goodness! Doesn't this foundation have a long title? During the Winter season, I like to cover up my skin with thicker formulas so it gives me extra protection from the cold and wind, and to also prevent the onset of redness going on, on my cheek area. The Milani Conceal & Perfect 2 in 1 Foundation and Concealer has been my go-to product, on and off since Christmas. I'd heard so many good things about this foundation and with the price tag only costing around £8.80 at the time of purchase, due to the Black Friday offers that was on last year, (although the original price has increased to £11.00 - damn you, Beauty Bay!) it wasn't too long before one had slipped into my basket.
